Aching butt and other random musings

Current mood: hot
I went for a bike ride today. Well, I guess while this butt is loaded on suspension, it was not meant for a bike’s hard seat. Christ, my arse is sore! The bright side is I figured out how to pump air into the tires. Yeah, this pretty face is not too bright when it comes to manual labor.

This weather sucks! It is too freaking hot. I am sitting in front of the laptop festering in pool of my own sweat. Where did winter go? I already have tan lines and I have yet to set foot on sand. Oh, I got two new pairs of bikinis plus the one Tina gave me and I also have a black asymmetrical one-piece that still has tags on it.

So last night, I had a nice long chat a very sexy Greek. We are really developing a friendship. We have come a long way. I know that Oscar and I had a fabulous relationship because we were friends first. I see now, that the lack of friendship made things rocky with John. Slowly but surely a foundation is forming and we are building on that. It was nice. It was just so amazing to just listen to him talk and to know that he values my opinion. I can be pretty wise on some things, you know?! He is super busy but he promised that we will catch Pirates of the Caribbean III. We have to watch it in honor of our first date – over two hours confused about the storyline of Pirates of the Caribbean II.

Did I tell you how busy the restaurant is? He is so happy! Before you know it, he will be swimming in cash ala Ducktales! What can I say but my baby is a genius! He charms the pants off his customers and the food is pretty amazing. I mean, Magz says that it did not taste like diner food at all! When she said that I almost started to beam with pride. I am so proud of John. Mansion Restaurant takes eggplant to a whole other level!

My baby brothers spent close to a grand this week on the apartment. I wanted a reading room and what Yvonne wants, Yvonne gets! So now I have a mini library downstairs and I also got a new coffee table. Kevin redecorated his room too. I am seriously considering getting some new linens for my bedroom. I am also thinking of an accent wall for the dining room and painting my bedroom lavender. It’s spring and a New Year calls for a new look for my habitat.

Movie Night

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

I can barely keep my eyes open! I did not get any sleep at last night. I need complete darkness to sleep and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to turn off the damn lights that illuminate the home of Mr. Ting Ting and Conchita. For those in the dark, they are John’s turtles. They are his babies, so don’t mess with them. You know how I talk to my shoes? Well, he uses that same voice to speak to them. They are as adorable as reptiles can get.

We watched (before we fell asleep) Night at The Museum. I totally love what I did watch. He was knocked out 20 minutes into the movie. He has been dying to see the movie but we didn’t get to start the movie till 12:30AM. We had to clean his very messy apartment first. Don’t even get me started on his tub. I HAVE TO scrub it the next time I am there. I can’t shower in it!..yes, it is THAT bad. Bachelors, right?

So apparently, I suck when it comes to duvets and I don’t stuff the pillows into cases the right way. How "lucky" am I to be dating the former Housekeeping manager of The Drake Swissotel? So, I got relegated to the closet. I rearranged his closet and threw away broken hangers. How tacky, right?! It looks semi-decent now. Did I tell you that he has taken to wearing chef coats these days? One word – caliente!

Oh fromage! Dear sweet Charlie and Teshome made me and John a beautiful cheese platter for our movie night. Thank you so much guys! We had Istara and French Brie. John loved it! Even I kinda got into the whole cheese thingy. I will definitely get more cheese for my foodie.

Nyeelah is very proud of her best friend today. What can I say? I still can’t believe I had the guts to do it. I kind of enjoyed it, to say the least. Yes, I have graduated. Like Ny says, I have reached a new plateau. Beneath this innocent face…

Apart from the throbbing headache (due to my lack of rest), I am feeling pretty damn good. Oh, who am I kidding? I am the happiest and luckiest girl in the world! Who needs fancy restaurants when you can curl up in bed with a good movie? When you can have a fabulous time just making the bed, you know things are going to work out just fine!
