The Kite Runner

Saturday, April 23rd, 2005

I just finished an AMAZING book by Khaled Hosseini. The Kite Runner has to be one of the best books I have ever read.Kite_runner It started out slow, couldn’t really keep myself focused but then it hit me like a hurricane and the pages just kept turning itself. It is incredible how the words stirred up emotions in me and tears were streaming down my keeps as I read. You will never think of Afghanistan the same way again. Amir may be a flawed character but we all see a little of ourselves in him. Do try to read it if you get the chance!

Hot-lanta!

Wednesday, April 20th, 2005

Hey y’all! I am going to visit my good and VERY pregnant friend, Shannon next week. I miss Atlanta so much! I miss the open spaces, my car, polite people, my friends…and most of all THE FOOD! I am definitely going to Chang’s (aahhh the memories) and Cracker Barrel (grits and biscuits!). I also want my Brunswick stew…fried green tomatoes…country fried steak…peach muffins and fried okra. I am only using Shannon’s baby shower as an excuse to visit Hot-lanta to disguise my gluttony for good ol’ Southern cooking!

I Love TVB!

Saturday, April 16th, 2005

I am sooo Chinese now!….I am obsessed with TVB series at the moment! My friend Kim and her honey bunny, Alex, got me hooked on "King of Yesterday and Tomorrow." It all went downhill from there….Just finished "The Family Man" and before that it was "To Catch The Uncatchable."

I wouldn’t be caught dead watching Hong Kong serials back in M’sia but now….Hey I am just getting in touch with my Asian roots…yer got a problem with that??!! It is much easier to watch TVB series in Malaysia with the Malay subtitles…Lord knows my Cantonese is baddddd….
